Tosca — Ukraine Chamber Opera and Francis van Broekhuizen (Doetinchem)

🎭 Puccini's Tosca performed by Ukraine Chamber Opera, with the leading role sung by the renowned Dutch soprano Francis van Broekhuizen. A chance to hear soloists from Ukrainian opera theatres on the same stage as one of the brightest singers in the Netherlands.

Rome, 1800. The singer Tosca finds herself caught between love, jealousy and political power, and every decision she makes has a price. The production focuses on the relationships between the characters. The stage design is deliberately minimalist, so that Puccini's music and the story itself remain at the centre.

🎶 Who is on stage:

• Francis van Broekhuizen as Tosca
• tenor Maxime Vorocek as Cavaradossi
• soloists from Ukrainian opera theatres
• an orchestra with musicians from different countries
• musical director Jeroen Weierink, director Marc Krone

Among the musical highlights of the evening are two arias that even those who rarely go to the opera will recognise: Vissi d'arte and E lucevan le stelle.
