MUR - Rebellia [1991]

🎭 MUR brings its new musical REBELLIA [1991] to Amsterdam, telling the story of Ukraine's road to restoring its independence. The stage resonates with the voices of the people who fought for it: Vasyl Stus, Alla Horska, Vyacheslav Chornovil, Les Taniuk and Leonid Kravchuk.

📚 The story spans several decades, from the Sixtiers to 1991:

• meetings of the Club of Creative Youth and the Sixtiers movement
• the newspaper editorial office where Symonenko worked
• the tragic forests of Bykivnia
• the Chornobyl disaster
• gatherings of the People's Movement and rallies
• the raising of the Ukrainian flag in the Verkhovna Rada

This is the story of a generation that did not give up its ideals and won for us the right to live in a free country. The performance is also about the responsibility we bear for this freedom today.

🎟 The ticket costs 51 €. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
