Carmina Burana — National Opera and Ballet of Ukraine, Odesa

🎭 Carmina Burana by Carl Orff in a staged version by the National Opera and Ballet of Ukraine from Odesa: orchestra, choir, vocal soloists and ballet, more than one hundred performers on one stage. Even if you have never listened to the cantata from beginning to end, its powerful rhythms and grand choral sound will almost certainly sound familiar.

The work is based on medieval poems about capricious fate, love, desire and the fragility of human life. The famous O Fortuna opens and closes the piece, and between them unfold contrasting scenes: from boisterous revelry to intimate episodes and a reminder that happiness and power can vanish as suddenly as they appeared.

🎶 Who creates the evening:

• conductor Ihor Chernetskyi
