"Carmina Burana" — National Opera and Ballet of Ukraine, Odesa

🎶 The Odesa Opera House brings Carl Orff's Carmina Burana to Zoetermeer, and this is a case where you feel the music with your whole body. There are over a hundred performers on stage, and you will recognise the famous O Fortuna from the first bars, even if you have never listened to the whole work.

The cantata is set to medieval poems about fickle fortune, love, desire and the fragility of human life. O Fortuna opens and closes the evening, and in between come boisterous revelry, intimate scenes and a reminder that happiness and power vanish as quickly as they arrive.
