⚖️ A destroyed museum, a looted library, a wiped-out archive: can international law respond? The Heritage on Trial panel discussion seeks answers through the example of Russia's war against Ukraine.
📚 What will be discussed:
- how to protect museums, churches, libraries, archives and other cultural property during war
- how to prosecute crimes against cultural heritage
- how to return stolen items
🤝 The discussion will feature Ukrainian officials, international lawyers and cultural heritage experts. Organisers: the Embassy of Ukraine in the Netherlands and the Embassy of the United Kingdom, supported by the Hoogsteder & Hoogsteder Foundation. The event is part of the The Hague Justice Week programme.
📝 The discussion lasts two hours, and participants gather half an hour before the start. Registration is required via the organiser's form.
