📚 Oksana Zabuzhko is coming to the Crossing Border festival in Den Haag to talk about The Museum of Abandoned Secrets, a novel that was published in Dutch as Museum van verlaten geheimen. This is a chance to hear first-hand how a personal story intertwines with the memory of an entire country.
🤝 The hour-long conversation is hosted by interviewer Alicja Gescinka. The meeting is part of the festival's Saturday daytime programme and takes place in the festival tent.
Zabuzhko studied philosophy in Kyiv, and her prose and essays have been translated into many languages. The novel centres on Daryna, a television producer who finds a wartime photograph and sets out to unravel a story spanning several generations. The book brings together:
- a family saga
- a detective intrigue involving missing archival documents
- a love story
🎟 A ticket costs 11 euros, additional fees may apply. Registration is required. The organisers have not specified the language of the conversation or whether translation is available. It is best to check the name of the tent and the entrance against the festival's final information.
