Licht over Grenzen — Concordia and ORPHEUS

🎶 A Christmas evening where the Ukrainian "Shchedryk" sounds alongside Bach and Rutter. The Royal Choir Concordia from Leeuwarden and the Ukrainian ensemble ORPHEUS join forces in the programme Licht over Grenzen to show how differently Christmas is sung about, and how easily these traditions weave into one.

🎄 What you will hear:

• Bach, Mendelssohn, Holst, Rutter and Blake performed by Concordia
• Ukrainian carols, sacred and folk pieces from ORPHEUS
• Walking in the Air by Howard Blake, performed by a children's choir
• a joint finale by both ensembles: Carol of the Bells and Silent Night

The programme is built as a dialogue of languages and generations. It is especially moving to hear Carol of the Bells, because this melody, known all over the world, grew out of our "Shchedryk".

🎟 The organisers have not yet announced prices or how to book, so keep an eye on the concert page for updates. Once sales open, you will need to register in advance or buy a ticket.
