Ukrainian International Ballet — INdependent24

🎭 An evening of contemporary choreography in which Ukrainian artists speak about war, relocation and the search for oneself through the language of the body. INdependent24 by Ukrainian International Ballet consists of two productions about identity and about how movement can convey what is hard to put into words.

The company grew out of the Ukrainian dance community in the Netherlands. It combines classical ballet training with contemporary choreography.

💪 At the heart of Emotions by choreographer Dmytro Boroday is the story of veteran Andrii Siromakha, who lost an arm and a leg in the war. Andrii takes the stage himself. His participation turns the performance into a personal exploration of physical limits, resilience and what a dancer's body can be.

🎶 In de/het/één, Rishel Viles draws on the experiences of ten Ukrainian dancers who are building a new life in the Netherlands. Everyday observations and humor appear here alongside stories of losing a home and searching for one's place. The performance features recorded interviews and music by Ukrainian composer Yurii Shepeta.

It is worth knowing in advance that this is not a traditional narrative ballet, but a contemporary dance program.

🎟 Tickets cost from 25 to 32 euros. A 1 euro fee is added to each ticket, but no more than 6 euros per order. Tickets must be bought in advance.
